Dr. S Jercinovic started her medical
career at age 15. It was at that time(and place), customary
to orient young people to a desired career early in life.
She graduated as an RN at the Nursing School of Karlovac at
the age of 19. She thereafter went on to pursue her studies
of Medicine at the
University of Rijeka in Croatia. She
received her Medical Degree in 1980. Dr. Jercinovic
continued her training in Chicago. As a pediatrics resident
at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's, she had the opportunity to
work at Mt. Sinai, and
Christ Hospitals, (Current Hope
Children's Hospital.)
After completion of pediatrics training,
Dr. Jercinovic worked as Pediatric Emergency Room Physician
and Clinical Instructor of Pediatric Emergency medicine at
the University of Chicago
Wylers Children's Hospital.
In Joliet Dr. Jercinovic was Medical Director and founder of
Nursery and pediatric inpatient service at Silver Cross
Hospital.
Dr. Jercinovic established pediatric offices in Wilmington
and Joliet, and in 1990 joined her husband Dr. Bruno
Jercinovic in the current office, known as "Dr. J.
Pediatrics."
Dr. Jercinovic is licensed by the State of
Illinois. She is a Fellow of the
American Academy of
Pediatrics, member of the
American Medical Association,
Illinois State Medical Society, and Will-Grundy County
Medical Society. Dr. Jercinovicis a member of the staff at
Provena
St. Joseph Medical Center, and
Silver Cross
Hospital.
Dr. Jercinovic has four sons, aged 29, 21,
16, and 13 |
